01 Poison- what it feels like to be in love with someone who only wants to be with you when it "works for them". Written Nov 2021.
02 Indigo- Experiencing heartbreak and being abandoned for someone else a little too quickly. Written Nov 2021.
03 Alexander- Processing and working through the grief of losing someone too soon. Written Jan 2021.
Shadows is all about revealing the situations we may not speak about out loud. the things we go through that are too hard, or that we're ashamed of. That we fear we're overthinking.
My imagination took control in 2021, during a global pandemic that was supposed to last two weeks and turned into three+ years. These songs and the characters in them came to me, two together, and one months later. I knew as soon as Alexander was written that it belonged with the other two.
And with them we celebrate the unspoken things. The discomfort. The grief, the shame. And we turn it into music.
